ETSI-med has applied to become a full member of Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure (BBMRI) www.bbmri.eu for biomedical and biological research in Europe and worldwide. BBMRI is building on existing infrastructures, resources and technologies, specifically complemented with innovative components and properly embedded into European ethical, legal and societal frameworks.

ETSI-med is collaborating closely with a labelized French biobank tumorpaca.marseille.inserm.fr in particular for implementing the new ISO pre-norm for biobanks with the aim of ISO 9001 certification in 2011. This collaboration includes on-site coaching.

Moreover, ETSI-med is implementing the Tumorotek® biobank software, developed at the Hôpital Saint-Louis by Prof. Anne Janin and supported by the DOHS/ INCa in Paris (France), with the aim of creating a fully compatible interface together with French biobanks.
